Board Member Commitment and Acknowledgment

To help the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival (WWCMF) succeed and to fulfill my role as a Board member, I commit to: • Share responsibility for the stability, growth, and advancement of WWCMF, and help carry out its mission. • Review, approve, and monitor the annual budget. • Take an active role in fundraising, including making an annual personally meaningful contribution. Along with my fellow Board members, I accept responsibility for meeting the annual campaign goal as established in the budget. • Learn and uphold the legal and financial compliance requirements of the organization, ensuring that appropriate programs, policies, and procedures are established and implemented. • Actively support WWCMF by engaging in its events and programs. • Contribute my time, talents, and energy in fulfillment of my duties as a director. • Serve as an active member of assigned committees. • Attend meetings of the Board and assigned committees as scheduled. • Recognize that the day-to-day operations of WWCMF are the responsibility of management and refer member or participant issues directly to management. • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information shared during Board or committee meetings, or in conversations with the Artistic Director, Executive Director, or other Board members. I accept these responsibilities in good faith as a member of the WWCMF Board of Directors.

New Board Member Orientation

Once elected to the WWCMF Board of Directors, new directors will participate in an orientation led by the Executive Director. The orientation will include:

Review of WWCMF Bylaws, Board policies, and procedures
Overview of Board and committee structure
Review of the current Strategic Plan
Presentation of the annual budget
Board meeting schedule, sample agenda, and example meeting materials
Introduction to key programs and opportunities for Board engagement
Overview of the Walla Walla Arts Collaboration.
