Roger Garcia is in his 30th year in music education. He is employed in the Walla Walla School District serving as the District Music Coordinator and the Band Director at Garrison Middle School.

A Colorado native, Master Sergeant Susan Govier graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance and from Arizona State University in 2001 with a Master’s Degree in Music Performance.

Staff Sergeant Louis Kim is a 2016 graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance.

Staff Sergeant Clarissa Osborn is a 2013 graduate of the University of Oregon, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Clarinet Performance.

Master Sergeant Randolph Palada is a 2010 graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance.

Kevin Schempf’s residency has been made possible by the generosity of John Jamison & Kathy Wildermuth.

Kevin Schempf is Associate Professor of Clarinet at Bowling Green State University and is active as a soloist, chamber and symphony musician. After graduating from the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Eastman School of Music, he performed with the United States Coast Guard Band and toured with them throughout the United States and to St. Petersburg, Russia. A frequent soloist with the Band, he was featured on NPR broadcasts and on their 75th Anniversary CD recording.

James Shields joined the Oregon Symphony as Principal Clarinet in the autumn of 2016.

Before relocating to Portland, James served as principal clarinet of the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, as well as the New Mexico Philharmonic in Albuquerque.
