An Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, Steinway Artist Benjamin Hochman has brought his “stylish and lucid” playing to Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and Suntory Hall. Equally at home as an orchestral soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, and conductor, Hochman is known for performances that combine intellectual clarity, poetic intensity, and a rare gift for making the familiar feel newly discovered.
“Classical music doesn’t get better than this.”
Hochman returns to WWCMF after memorable appearances during the 2024 Winter Festival, where his solo recital at Foundry Vineyards and his performance with the Girsky String Quartet at Gesa Power House Theatre reminded Festival audiences why the piano, in the right hands, can feel less like an instrument than an entire landscape.
This August, Hochman comes back to Walla Walla for an intimate solo recital at the new Bionic Wines tasting room.
