John Jamison

John Jamison has been a student of classical guitar and renaissance lute for many years. A former president of the Lute Society of America, he studied that instrument with Paul O'Dette in Rochester, NY, and performed as soloist and ensemble player in Seattle and other places. In recent years he has returned to the classical guitar and is studying with Michael LeFevre here in Walla Walla.

For a day job, John taught at the high school level in Seattle for over thirty years, first at The Lakeside School, and then at the Bush School, where he still works occasionally as a technical consultant. John also serves on the board of the Walla Walla Symphony. He and his wife Katherine offer housing at their home, Dos Rios just outside of town, to visiting musicians, actors and lecturers.
