Danza Classica
Nathalia Cazarez is 17 years old and a Senior at Wa-Hi. She has been with the Danza Classica Ballet Company for four years. Nathalia has been dancing since she was seven years old. She has danced in Italy and competed in the Dance Prix twice. She has also attended Summer Dance Lab.
Grace Evans is 14 years old and has been dancing for 11 years. She started dancing at the Woodinville Dance Academy and took ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical classes. Grace joined The Dance Center of Walla Walla in 2014 and focused her efforts on her true passion — ballet. This is Grace’s second year in the Danza Classica Ballet Company. She will attend the Oregon Ballet Theater Summer Intensive program in Portland, Oregon this summer to continue her education. She hopes to major in dance in college.
Amanda Gallaway starting performing in musicals at the age of four, but decided her passion was in dance. She has been dancing since she was three years old, and is now 13. She loves to dance and perform on stage and hopes to pursue a dance career. Currently, Amanda takes classes in all forms of dance, six days a week. She has attended two summer dance intensives at Whitman College and wants to continue her dance training wherever that may take her. In her spare time, Amanda loves being around animals, and enjoys drawing, nail art, baking, sewing and listening to music.
Katie Janis is a salutatorian in the graduating class of 2019 at Walla Walla High School. She began tap dancing at the age of seven then started taking ballet at the age of 11. Katie is a senior company member in the Danza Classica Ballet Company and toured Europe with the company three times. She plans to continue dancing and pursue a dance major in college.
Nina Johanson is 14 years old and has been dancing in ballet at The Dance Center for the four years. This is her second year as a member of the Danza Classica Ballet Company. Last Summer, she attended Whitman College Summer Dance Lab and traveled to Italy with Danza Classica Ballet Company where she got to perform in Cesena, Fermo, and Cannara, Italy.
Taya Lovejoy has been dancing since she was four years old. She's been focusing on ballet for 10 years. Taya loves dance as a creative outlet and because she feels free when she's preforming.
Colleen McKibben is 16 years old and she has been dancing for 14 years. She’s been with Danza Classica for four years. Colleen went on the Italy tour twice and was an exchange student in 2018.
Paula Vargas is 15 and a sophomore at Walla Walla High School. She has been dancing for four years, and has been with the Danza Classica Ballet Company for the last two years. She went on the Italy tour in 2018 and will be attending Summer Dance Lab this year.
