Mary Tuuri Derby began her world of classical singing at Bemidji State University and continued studying with the Wesley Balk Opera Institute.
After moving to San Francisco she studied with vocal luminaries Edward Sayegh, Daniel Lockartand Barbara Aurora. During this time Mary created and sang in numerous Concert Series, from Vino & Verdi, Roem’s Gloria to Mozart und Kaberet.
She was also featured in a short film, Moonfire at the Sundance Film Festival, as the films leading actress & singing Faure’s Pie Jesu.
Mary has been a part of the Walla Walla community for 19 years, raising her son Simon and building the wine brand DAMA. She has also made time to share her singing talents and was the mezzo soloist for Handel’s Messiah with the Walla Walla Symphony and more recently she has sung for a few of her favorite people who attend DAMA’s French Dinner, The Found Meals of the Lost Generation.
