Action:
The goal of the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival is to fill downtown Walla Walla with
music during the Festival. Five phases of action achieve this goal: the Festival Series, Open
Rehearsals, the Tasting Music Series, Sounds Like Fun!, and outreach programs providing music to audiences who would not otherwise be able to
attend concerts.
The Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival is a celebration of musical expression. It is about
community, and the shared experience of live musical performance. The Festival
showcases both the rehearsal process, and its culmination in a series of provocative
concerts. The musicians of the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival come from diverse
communities, bringing unique perspectives both musical and social. Through the
embodiment of the Festival’s core values they contribute to an environment rich in
creativity, curiosity, and exuberance. Each performance explores communication through
chamber music, drawing inspiration from the vast repertoire of our predecessors, the great
works of today, and the active promotion of the living art form through the commissioning
and performance of new works.
The Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival seeks to enhance the quality of life in the
community, and to encourage visitors to share in the experience. The Walla Walla Valley is
a region rich in history, recreational opportunities, natural beauty, industry, and boasts a
