Why is there so much buzz about the Winter Chamber Music Festival? Because we’ve invited four great brass playing friends, The Westerlies. Sure, they’re famous musicians. But that’s not what the buzz is about… Brass players make sound by buzzing their lips together. Without a mouthpiece or instrument attached it sounds pretty funny. But once you add a trumpet or trombone, the sound of those buzzing lips is transformed into beautiful golden sound. How does it all work? You have to come to find out.

WWCMF’s string playing musicians will also be on hand to add their own unique buzz to the occasion. This event is free and open to children of all ages.

The Sounds Like Fun! Series of free children’s performances is made possible by the generosity of Colombia REA, proof that electricity produces musical buzz, too!

Artists: Timothy Christie, Viola; Andy Clausen, trombone; Zubin Hensler, trumpet; Willem de Koch, trombone; Riley Mulherkar, trumpet; Thomas Rosenkranz, piano; Maria Sampen, violin; and Sally Singer Tuttle, cello.
